Coatings Built for Hard Service

Industrial coatings are specified for abrasion, chemical exposure and UV, not for showroom gloss. A direct-to-metal coating cuts a step out of the process where protection matters more than the finish.

• High-build products put film thickness on in fewer passes, which counts when you are coating square metres rather than panels.
• Two-pack polyurethanes give hardness, gloss retention and chemical resistance.
• Epoxies give adhesion and barrier protection, usually underneath something else.

Which of those you want depends on the substrate, the environment it sits in, and how long the coating has to last before redoing it becomes the cheaper option.

Fleet and Commercial Vehicle Refinishing

Fleet work lives or dies on colour consistency and turnaround. One truck repainted slightly off is one truck that looks wrong parked next to the other nineteen. We do expert colour matching, and we can supply the same formulation repeatedly, so a repair in March still matches a repair in November.

Trucks, trailers, buses and vans also take a beating a private car never sees - high-pressure washing, road grit, constant UV and long hours outdoors with no cover. Fleet coatings are built for that. Imron is a two-pack polyurethane system used widely across commercial and fleet refinishing.

Plant, Machinery and Structural Steel

The substrate and the environment set the specification.

Yellow goods and mobile plant need coatings that survive impact and abrasion as well as weather. Structural steel needs a system that deals with corrosion first and appearance second. Tanks, exhausts and anything running hot need purpose-made high-temperature products rather than a standard enamel that will discolour and fail.

Military and Defence Finishes

Defence and government work comes with a specification attached, and the specification is not negotiable. We supply CIA Military Paint for projects that call for military specification finishes, including camouflage colours and low-reflectance topcoats. These are not products you substitute on the day because something similar is on the shelf. If a contract names a colour standard or a coating specification, bring it to us with the job and we will work to it.

The same applies to restoration work on ex-military vehicles, where owners are usually chasing an accurate period finish rather than a modern equivalent.
